The Richland Creek Run/Walk VII officially started shortly after 8 a.m. outside of the Cohn Adult Learning Center on April 6, 2013. More than 500 people registered for the event.

The full results are now available. Shawn Fehr (30:00) and Leah Sawyer (31:21) led the way, respectively, for the male and female runners. If you placed first, second or third in your age group but did not pick up your award at the ceremony on race day, call the Metro Parks office at (615) 862-8400 to claim your prize.

Thanks to all the participants, volunteers and sponsors who made the Richland Creek Run/Walk a great success. Mark your calendars for April 5, 2014, for the Richland Creek Run/Walk VIII. See you there!

The Richland Creek Run & Walk VII will carry participants along a certified five-mile course through sections of the Richland Creek Greenway and Sylvan Park on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Net proceeds from this event benefit Greenways for Nashville, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the creation, protection, preservation, and promotion of Nashville greenways.

The Run will begin at 8 a.m. outside of the Cohn Adult Learning Center, 4805 Park Avenue, and wind through parts of Sylvan Park before heading onto the Richland Creek Greenway and finishing back at Cohn. The Walk will begin at 8:05 a.m. at the same location and follow the same course.

As in prior years, packet pickup for participants who pre-register will be available on Friday, April 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sport Seasons (56 White Bridge Road). NEW this year: The race awards and after party will be held immediately following the event at M.L. Rose at 4408 Charlotte Avenue.

The Richland Creek Run & Walk VII course completes a loop on the Richland Creek Greenway and has been certified as a five-miler. The race starts and finishes at its traditional location at the Cohn school at the corner of Park Avenue and 48th Avenue North. The second-annual Kids Race will also start at Cohn and follow 48th Avenue to Wyoming Avenue before returning to Cohn.
